Cherry WCAG

WCAG scanning powered by axe-core, with optional Pa11y checks.

Scan options

WCAG levels

Note: axe-core’s AAA coverage is mostly WCAG 2.0 AAA rules (wcag2aaa). There are no separate wcag21aaa / wcag22aaa tags in the current axe version, so AAA results are narrower than AA.

Page behavior

  • Runs a second pass at iPhone-sized dimensions with a mobile user agent so responsive UI (e.g. hamburger menus) is included in the scan.
  • Attempts to click away common cookie banners and removes known CMP overlays before snapshots.
  • Emulates the CSS prefers-reduced-motion: reduce setting. Snapshots are taken immediately and the scan does not wait for animations to finish.
  • Scrolls the page, simulates user interaction, and waits for lazy-loaded and in-view elements before scanning and snapshots. Slower, but better for JS-heavy sites. Significantly increases the estimated time per page, but produces a more accurate scan on JS-heavy sites with below-the-fold content.

Scanner

Default scan uses axe-core only. Enable Pa11y for an extra HTML_CodeSniffer pass.

  • Experimental Pa11y may report false positives for certain WCAG standards. Use these results as hints and verify findings manually. Default scan uses axe-core only. Enable Pa11y for an extra HTML_CodeSniffer pass.
  • Saves full-page and element screenshots in the report. Turn off for faster scans; accessibility results are unchanged.
